STALLIONS

We have a wide variety of stallions. From ranch/rope sires to cutting/reining, we have a little bit of everything. We're not afraid to cross the ranch/rope horses with our cutting/reining horses to add some of that good foundation quarter horse bone back into the cutting/reining horses either. We feel not only do they get some added body and confirmation but also make them a well rounded prospect that really can go do anything asked of them.

“Rico”

2013 AQHA Blue Roan Stallion

5 panel N/N, 15.2H

Sire: Black Ricochet x Drifts Chip,PE $126,248+ & AQHA Pt Earners(Double Drift x Diamond Isle) x Tontos Tiki (Tiki Mount x Tontos Baby Jane

Dam: Keep True Blue x Keep Ole Bob(Keep The Fire,AQHA Champion,PE AQHA Champions x Charming Robin) x Truly Unruly JW (True to Form x Wilful Chick)

We purchased Rico as a weanling from Moose Mountain Ranch’s production sale. Rico's sire,Ricochet Black, was bred at the 6666 Ranch and has produced ranch and rope horses. Rico himself was started but suffered a hoof injury leaving him behind in training while he healed up. He’s gentle, big bodied, correct, and has a very elegant head. Rico's first foal crop hit the ground in 2017. We have no doubt in the right hands, that his foals will be successful in the roping pen as well as great ranch and rodeo prospects. His foals are taking on his disposition of being gentle, good minded, and SMART. Every one we’ve worked with after weaning has been easy going and picks up everything very quick.

Rico’s full brother,MM True Black, who was owned and jackpotted off of by Clay Ullery successfully until he sold at 2019 Ranch Rio for $39,000. Rico’s disposition is very gentle and quiet.

We purchased Pepto in 2016 and he made a quite literal splash with his first foal crop in 2017. He sired some incredibly marked foals that year and has continued to do so ever since! His foals are easy, smart, versatile and athletic to work with. Pepto has offspring performing in breakaway, barrels, ranch/trail classes, roping, and of course offspring that work for a living on ranches too! Pepto also has offspring in training for reined cowhorse as well as cutting. We’re excited to see his offspring progress in the show pens.

Pepto is finished in reining. He was shown lightly in NRHA green reiner and AQHA ranch pleasure prior to our ownership. We find the Peptoboonsmal line to be very versatile. Pepto has no formal training on cattle or the flag to our knowledge but his natural instinct kicks in when we’ve worked him on the flag here at home. His sire,NQH Mossy Boon, is an NRHA money earner. NQH Mossy Boon is a full brother to 2006 NCHA Freshman Sire of the Year, Hesa Peptospoonful. NQH Mossy Boon was an open finalist at the 2005 NSHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, where he was also the champion of the 2005 NSHA reining. He was an open finalist in the 2006 AQHA world show junior reining as well. Pepto’s dam, Bar Badger DR (Peps Gray Badger x Docs Marty) goes back to Peponita,LTE $ 126,221,PE $2M+ and Doc Bar, AQHA Hall of Fame and Sire of  NCHA Futurity winners, world champions and top-10 horses.

WYOS CAT

"Cat" is a 2011 AQHA black stallion. He is 5 panel n/n and 15.1 hands.

Cat is a grandson of Rowdy Blue Man (Blue Valentine) on his sire’s side and Wyo Blue Bonnet (Leo Hancock Hayes) on his dam’s side. Hancock horses are known best for their grit and go-all-day work ethic. These horses are built to last. Cat and his foals are no different. So far, Cat has sired black, grulla, sooty buckskin and roan foals. Cat has the typical disposition of the LHH/BV horses. He’s not only a gentle soul, but has that big, beautiful, black frame, complete with good feet and an even better mind.

In his younger years, Rowdy Blue Man was used in the arena for steer roping.  Wyo Blue Bonnet left his mark on breeding programs across the country.

Leo Hancock Hayes helped shape his sire, Blue Valentine’s legacy. Most of his foals have been used as ranch or rodeo horses. Leo Hancock Hayes has no official AQHA record, but his lineage is beginning to be recognized in the show pens in cow-horse work as well as foundation and ranch horse competition. Bar Star Danger, a 2002 son of LHH has points in tie-down and breakaway roping. He qualified for the AQHA world show in Junior Tie-down roping and earned his ROM in 2006. Blue Fox Hancock, another son of LHH, has AQHA points in Working Cow Horse and Heeling. He earned his AQHA Open Performance ROM in 2007. Bar Star Sadie and Pros Velvet Seven both have points in tie-down roping as well.

During Blue Valentine’s lifetime he was not only a sire but a rodeo horse including being roped on at Cheyenne Frontier Days. He spent his time back and forth between Arizona and Wyoming rodeo and breeding seasons. He was roped off and ranched on, a true cowboy’s horse. He was even barrel raced on, taking third at the annual Casper, Wyoming pro-rodeo. He was voted top ten ranch sires in AQHA history by Western Horseman Magazine (October 2007).

As you can see Mag's pedigree is plum full of talented money earning horses. Mag's first foal crop will hit the ground spring 2021. We are VERY excited for their arrival.

Magneticat (Metallic Cat x Wanda Rey) won the Montana Reining Cowhorse Derby and placed in the Utah Reining Cowhorse Derby and made the finals in several other derbies in 2016. He won over $11,000 in the NRCHA that year. Metallic Cat needs no introduction as he is the hottest stallion in the cutting horse business. He recently became the fourth horse in history to sire the earners of more than $40 million, including closed incentives. Metallic Cat was able to achieve that honor the fastest of the 4 horses with eight show-age foal crops. The only three Western performance stallions whose offspring have won more money than him are his sire, all-time leader High Brow Cat ($85.4 million), Dual Rey ($47.7 million) and Smart Little Lena ($42.5 million).

Metallic Cat was the 2010 NCHA Open Horse of the Year and has LTE of $574,494. Magneticat is the oldest foal of Wanda Rey's. Wanda Rey has NCHA earnings of $90,000. Stella Starlight won over $310,000 and has produced foals that have earned over $522,000 as well.

That's just Mag's sire's side. Mag's dam, Lil Ruf Spark DR, is a daughter of Blue Spark Olena & Just a Lil Ruffle. Blue Spark Olena was the 2005 URCHA Year End Reserve Open Hackamore Champion, the 2004 URCHA Year-end Show Open Snaffle Bit Champion, and 2004 MRCHA Open Snaffle Bit Futurity Finalist (High Fence Score). Blue Spark Olena is a son of Shining Spark. Shining Spark has LTE of $62,744 and was the AQHA World Champion in Jr Reining and NRHA Open Derby Champion. BOOT SCOOTIN BOONIE

“Patron” is a 2009 AQHA Bay Roan stallion. He is 5 panel N/N and 14 1/2H. Don’t let that height scare you, our mares are crossing extremely well on Patron and his foals are hanging right with the biggest of them at our place. He’s putting correct and gorgeous foals on the ground. Not only are they pretty but athletic too. Patron was never shown himself, but his previous owners used him for cutting, team penning, ranch sorting and roping. Patron’s first foal crop for us hit the ground in 2020. Patron is a son of Smart Lena Boon, PE $210,000+ (Smart Little Lena, AQHA Hall of Fame, NCHA Triple Crown Champion, LTE $ 743,275, PE $ 43.4M+ x Bet Yer Boons, LTE $73,281, PE $539,675). LCB DRIFTWOOD PRINCE

“Prince” is a 2001 AQHA buckskin stallion. He is 5 panel N/N and 15.3 hh. Prince was born on the ranch. His coloring and size have garnered him admirers over the years. Not only is Prince passing his beauty onto his foals, but they are also smart, correct and easy to work with. Prince like Sonny is being bred on a limited basis. The opportunity to own a son/daughter of Prince is slimming down.

ITS SONNY PINE BAR

"Sonny" was purchased by Grandpa Soren out of Spencer, Nebraska as a 2 year old. Sonny is 15.2 and 5 panel N/N. He has consistently sired beautifully headed colts with good bone and stocky structure. He leaves his mark on his foals whether it be their beautiful confirmation or his laid back personality. He has produced many wonderful ranch/rope working horses as well as ranch versatility and trail partners. His babies can go out and work but are also refined enough for the show pen. Sonny's a client favorite as he's brought clients back on several occasions. We've kept back 3 of his sons to keep his beautiful good-natured lineage in our breeding program. You'll also find we have a good foundation of Sonny daughters & granddaughters in our broodmare band. Sonny officially retired from our breeding program in 2022.

Sonny is of old-school show horse lines. If you know the basis of our program, you'll know we keep our Grandpa Soren's prized Saltys Devil 5 lines in our breeding program to this day as well.

Sonny is a grandson of Sonny Dee Bar, show horse & successful sire. He produced successful offspring, including world champion Sonny Go Lucky, AQHA Champion Reynolds Rap, world champion sire Red Sonny Dee, and high-point Western pleasure stallion Sonny Deluxe. Sonny Dee Bar’s offspring have earned over 35,000 points in four different breed organizations.  He sired 1,068 foals, including 409 point earners that earned 24,106 points in AQHA competitions.  Some of Sonny Dee Bar's sons went on to become leading sires of performance horses as well, including Scotch Bar Time, Reynolds Rap, Sonny Go Royal and Sonny Go Lucky. He was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2003.

He carries both Sonny and Rooster’s disposition of being sweet and good minded. Big Rooster’s first foal crop hit the ground in the 2020. He’s putting good sized, beautiful and correct foals on the ground.

Untitled

TLJ SONNY SALTY BEAU

"Los" better known as "Squeaker" is a 2016 AQHA red roan son of our beloved Sonny. He is 5 panel N/N and a very stout 14.3 hh young stallion. Squeaker had a rough start in life. Baldy, his dam passed shortly after foaling and we were left to mother him.  We vowed to do whatever it took to see him through and we did. He picked up his nickname,Squeaker, during those late night bottle feedings. You can't tell now that he was ever an orphan. He is a thick horse much like his great grandsire Salty.

With Squeaker, you could say we stuck to tradition. We got the best of both worlds with him being a son of Sonny as well as him being a great grandson of Grandpa's beloved Salty.

Enzo is unshown due to an injury as a long yearling, but we think he’ll be an impressive sire in the years to come. He’s catty, correct and has an easy-going personality. He greets you the minute he sees you and is really turning into a handsome young stallion. We’re hoping to get his formal pics done in May, weather permitting! We did a little test run in 2021 with Enzo and were pleased with his 2022 filly, JQH Velvet Rodeo. We are expecting 7 foals this spring with some of our top mares.

PAST SIRES

These stallions may no longer be with us but still influence our broodmare band as well as our stallion prospects today and will continue to do so. Gone but never forgotten.

MIGHTY MAN OTOE

"Pinky" was a 2004 AQHA Perlino stallion. He was 5 panel N/N and 15.2 hands. He was bred and born here. Eventually, finding his place as one of our sires. We made the very hard decision to lay Pinky to rest in 2020 due to declining health. During his time, he gave us some of the most beautiful, correct and obviously colored foals we could've ever asked for. We have several of his daughters in our broodmare band. He enabled us to cross our oldest bloodline Saltys Devil 5, typically known to be sorrels, chestnuts and bays, and get guaranteed buckskins, palominos, and duns to diversify our ranch/rope horses. Many of his offspring have gone on to be using horses on ranches as well as trusted rope horses, trail partners and even barrel racers.

Untitled

DUALAROANIE

"Dual" was a 2005 AQHA blue roan stallion. He was 14.2hh and 5 panel N/N. We lost Dual unexpectedly in early 2019. We purchased Dual out of California in 2014 where he had been a finished cutter. In the short time that we had the pleasure of having him here with us, he gave us some smart and beautiful foals. We have a select group of daughters that have been added to our broodmare band as well as young son we're currently growing up. Dual had a lovable personality and was known to come running up to us in the pasture and long stay past his mares moving on. Dual's foals have proven to be versatile so far not only as cowhorses but in chasing barrels as well.

Dual is a son of Duals Blue Boon, LTE $210,000 (Dual Pep, LTE  $313,192, PE $28.5 M+ x Royal Blue Boon, LTE $ 381,764, PE $2 M+) and out of Doc Sugs Royal Miss, LTE $16K (Doc's Sug, NCHA money-earner x Royal Princess Miss).

AUTUMN BOON DOC

"Boon" was a 2013 AQHA bay roan stallion. Boon was 14.2 hh and 5 panel N/N. We acquired Boon at the same time as Pepto. In 2017, we bred a handful of mares to Boon. Boon suffered an injury mid-winter after his first breeding season and after some mending, he re-injured himself furthering the damage to the point that we had to make the difficult decision to lay him to rest. That following spring we had 5 stunning foals from him. We retained one filly and two stud colts. One of the stud colts will be listed shortly as we are keeping the other for a stallion prospect.

Boon is by Autumnator, unshown due to injury (Smart Little Lena, AQHA Hall of Fame, NCHA Triple Crown Champion, LTE $ 743,275, PE $ 43.4M+ x Autumn Boon LTE $258,185, PE $1.9 M+) x HA Sienas Dual Doc (Nitro Dual Doc, LTE $53,826 x Sienna Tari, LTE $16,574).

Untitled

TLJ DUALABLUE

"Lil Dual" was a 2017 AQHA blue roan stallion. He was 14.2 hands and 5 panel N/N. Lil Dual was a homegrown we had sold as a weanling. When we unexpectedly lost Dual, we decided to purchase Lil Dual back mid 2019 as a 2 year old to fill Dual's void in our program. Little did we know his time with us would be short as well. He passed away during the night shortly after finishing his first & only breeding season in 2020. We are expecting 5 foals in 2021.

Lil Dual was by DualaRoanie ( Duals Blue Boon, LTE $210K x Doc Sugs Royal Miss, LTE $16K) x Blue Zanstastic (Bar T Zanstastic x Zans Blue Nifty).

MIGHTY MAN FEATURE

"Thunky" is a 2000 AQHA dun stallion. He is 5 panel N/N & 15.1 hands. Thunky took early retirement and still resides on the ranch. He is Pinky's sire. Thunky produced using ranch horses as well as rope horses and even barrel horses.

Untitled

SALTY SONNY PINE

“Pine” was a 2002 red roan AQHA stallion. Pine was 15-15.1hh and 5 panel N/N. He was a son of our Sonny. We bought him in hopes of him taking Sonny's place later on in our breeding program as well as bringing in Grandpa Soren's beloved, Salty Devil 5 bloodline, up closer among our herd from the stallion side. Pine bred his first herd of mares with us in 2015. Pine had such a laid-back personality that we decided to send him off for a riding tune-up where he immediately got sick at the trainer's. We ended up losing him after a stay in the nearby equine hospital.
